
Skate Foundations: A 4 week class for the beginner skater!
Skate Foundations is designed to give new skaters a strong, confident start.
Instruction focuses on essential skills that help students feel comfortable, safe,
and successful on the skating floor.

(Mondays 6pm-7pm)

Enrollment Open for April Class as well!
Must have at least 4 enrollments for class to make. If class does not make, we will add the student to the next class OR refund your payment.
What is taught:
- Proper skate fit and equipment basics
- How to fall safely and recover correctly
- Proper skating stance and body position
- Forward glide and controlled movementA
- Basic turning and directional control
- 4 free skate admissions included when you enroll!

Who is this for?
- Must be 6 years old or older.
- Anyone who has never put skates on before
- Anyone who has skated but struggles with balance and can’t move without assistance from a person or a wall.
What is provided?
- Quad Roller Skates
- Wrist Guards upon request
- Free admission pass for each weekend after the lesson
- A certificate of completion upon attending all 4 classes!
What else do I need to know?
- Students may bring their own skates but they must be approved for use by staff. Please note that some skates are not well suited for our skate floor and we may suggest using our rentals if we feel like the student’s skates are hindering progress.
- This class is geared towards traditional quad skates, not inline skating. We will not be providing inline skate rentals. If you have your own inline skates, you may bring them, but note that some of the techniques may be somewhat different than traditional quad skating. If you are interested in inlines, we suggest learn on quad skates and then try inline skates during a public skate session after learning the basics.
- Skate mates (skate trainers) will only be provided at the discretion of the instructor(s). Skate mates can be a useful tool for learning but it can also hinder student progress if not properly used.
- All rink amenities (except for restrooms) will be unavailable during the class. Snack Bar will be closed.
Rain Check & Refund Policy
Skate Foundations is a structured 4-week program with limited enrollment, and each participant’s spot is reserved at registration. Refund requests must be submitted at least one (1) week prior to the first scheduled class. Refund requests made within one week of the program start date, or after the program has begun, are not eligible for a refund. If a participant is unable to attend after the refund deadline, their enrollment may be transferred to a future Skate Foundations session, subject to availability. Missed or unused lessons may be made up on a designated make up day provided by the instructor. Missed make up days will be forfeited and will not result in any kind of refund.
